EFFLORESCENCE ON THE FOUNDATION
It is quite typical, we arrive at the people’s place and we are told that they have beautifully paint their foundation walls and basement floors but the paint still stands. Maybe they do not use the right paint? But no! The problem comes front the back. The humidity level in the concrete is too high. A humidity levelt above 50% is said to create an environment favorable to the development of mold. If the foundation wall crumbles or is always scaling the paint, it is no longer waterproof. It needs to be waterproofed with elastomeric membranes from the outside. If the concrete floor crumbles or the painter is peeling it is that the French drain does not work well. It is no longer able to control the ground water level evenly and the water always touches the floor. Before spending anymore for paint, get an expert before it’s too late!
