Project description
We were mandated by the owner of this Mount Royal home to waterproof its foundations since there was a high level of humidity in the basement and water seeped in in the spring. We proceeded with the excavation and our worker at the site quickly noticed that there was another problem that could not be seen without clearing the foundation. The foundation footing sagged over much of the building creating a large clearance between the foundation wall and the footing. We could put our hand in!
Obviously, we cannot leave it like that. If we had only filled the void with concrete and waterproofed the foundation, the footing would have continued to move in the future, causing water to seep again.
So we had to pile the problematic sections down to the rock. Thanks to the piles put in place by our teams, we were able to raise the footing to its original place and repair the foundations in accordance with the rules of the art.
Of course the owner was not too happy to hear such bad news but he was grateful that we informed him of the problem and that we were able to fix everything on short notice!
