BAD CONCRETE SLAB
A South Shore client cleared the basement of his new multi-unit dwelling and found a completely uneven and decaying concrete slab. In buildings older than 50 years old, the concrete slab in the basement maybe badly damaged. Sometimes it can be completely finished. In a case like this one we will have to demolish the concrete slab, excavate to the bottom of the footings, backfill with certified stone without pyrite, install a polythene, an insulation and pour a new concrete slab. To ensure that the new slab remains healthy and that the humidity level is controlled, we will waterproof the foundation walls from the outside and install a new French drain. When buying a new building make sure to take moisture readings and get us to come visite the property to make sure you are as knowledgeable as possible.
