Foundation crack
A foundation crack can be caused by several factors. Ground movement may be a factor, but most of the time, it is a drainage problem. The foundations are poorly drained, the ground is soaked with water and a slight movement of the foundation causes cracking in the concrete. It is not dramatic to have cracks, but they must be repaired quickly because they let water in. They are therefore the main cause of water infiltration in a home.
Polyurethane injection
We use polyurethane to inject foundation cracks. Unlike epoxy used by many contractors, polyurethane offers flexibility for future foundation movements. Sometimes when the crack is larger, we install stabilizer steel plates. In this way, the foundation is stabilized and no movement will occur in the future.
