Project description
We recently undertook a winter renovation project in Vaudreuil-Dorion, involving the complete replacement of the concrete slab in the basement of this house. The old, badly deteriorated slab was demolished, then the existing backfill was removed to prepare a sound base for the new installation. Taking advantage of this opening allowed us to improve moisture protection by installing a Delta MS membrane on the foundation walls, thus limiting the risk of water infiltration.
At the same time, an interior French drain was installed, along with a catch basin and sump pump to ensure effective drainage. Before pouring the new slab, we'll apply a layer of certified pyrite-free stone, guaranteeing soil stability and durability. The owner then plans to install his own underfloor heating system, optimizing the comfort of his renovated basement.
